Azari Yachts

Ownership begins before the yacht changes hands.

Azari Yachts helps clients turn intended use into an acquisition brief, organise a market search and coordinate the technical, commercial and professional work needed before delivery.

01

Define what ownership is meant to achieve

Acquisition criteria should include intended cruising, guest capacity, privacy, range, crew model, berth constraints, technical complexity, operating budget, age tolerance and appetite for refit.

The clearer these questions are at the outset, the less likely the client is to buy a yacht that is impressive but unsuitable.

02

Search beyond headline specifications

Two yachts of similar size can have very different layouts, crew circulation, machinery, maintenance burdens, tender arrangements and refit requirements.

Market search should therefore compare use and condition as well as price.

03

Surveys and advisers are not optional detail

Professional survey, legal review, title and registration checks, tax advice, insurance planning and technical inspection can materially affect an acquisition.

The relevant specialists should be appointed independently and given enough time to work.

04

Commercial terms need operational context

Delivery location, inventory, outstanding works, warranty rights, crew transition, berth arrangements and timing may be as important as headline price.

These points should be considered while terms are negotiated, not after signing.

05

Plan the first season before delivery

Management, crewing, maintenance baselines, itinerary planning, provisioning systems and owner preferences should begin to take shape before handover.

Post-acquisition readiness is part of acquisition quality.

Continue through the yachting business.
